A little girl from Monroe is making a name for herself with her own internet radio station that broadcasts worldwide. The 6th grader has a lot of personality and some broad ambitions, twice a week you can get a taste of "Kids Country" by logging on line.

Maty Eitner gives tips of advice during her show, "Suck it up sunshine and do what you're told and you parents remember us kids are going to be pushing around your wheel chairs and picking out your nursing homes." It is hard to believe that not too long ago Maty Eitner was shy but love for her sick pony changed all that. "Wrote a song about him and sent it to David James and he made it into a song," Maty explains.

Then, through myspace.com she started corresponding with deejay Kevin Nixa of the Nixa Country music website and he offered to give Maty her own radio show.

Now she's recording her ninth "Kids Country" radio show in her studio next to the family living room. "The show is a hour long and in the show I pretty much talk about the kids and like play their songs pretty much get them promoted and stuff." Maty hopes to help other kids gain confidence by playing their music.

Bobbie Eitner, Maty's mother says it, "gives them support and great airtime then let them be heard and even if they're not so good it gives them such great backing and encouragement." It is an admirable endeavor, and her mother says she doesn't mind helping out, despite the long hours.  You can hear Maty's Kids' Country Show on NixaCountry.com Thursdays at 4 pm and Saturdays at 10 am. "Suck it up, Sunshine, and do what you're told," is a favorite saying of deejay Maty.
Maty is now a country-western deejay, replete with her smooth voice.  She encourages other kids to jump on board and makes it easy for them.  "Hey, if you're a young singer and you want to be on Kids Country, you can send a CD to me," says Maty, "I would love to play your songs."
She plans to keep her show until she turns 18 and can move on to bigger and better things.  Kevin Nixa sings her praises and thinks she has great potential.
"I see her having her own radio show, and I see her love of music as unreal," NIXA says. "I think Maty is really going to succeed in Country Music."

Maty Eitner is a small town girl from Monroe, Oregon.  She enjoys horses, dogs and country music.  Maty is 11 years old and has already met some of the greatest people around.  While most 11-year-olds are out playing, Maty loves to spend her time writing out her next Kids Country show, looking for fun things to talk about and telling stories about her family.

It all started with a poem she wrote about her pony that went blind.   The poem was turned into a country song with the help of David James.  From that point on Maty’s life changed into country music all the way.  She met Kevin Nixa from NixaCountry radio through MySpace and became family, known as little sister to NixaCountry.  They met in Nashville and well that’s where Maty talked Nixa into letting her start talking on the radio.  Maty has been to Southern Califonia to do a LIVE broadcast with Nixa and enjoyed it so much she was wanting to start her own show.  Not too many radio stations would even look at letting a 10 year old do their own show, let alone go live.  Well Nixa did and so Kids Country was born.  The show is doing so good and Maty has grown with every show.

She has been featured on TV news broadcasts and in newspapers and is now looking for sponsors.  The friends and supporters she has gained through Kids Country has been her biggest encouragement.  The love she has felt has kept her working hard and loving it all the way.  Maty is looking forward to working on her own CD soon.  She has enjoyed singing for years and is now ready to let the world hear her.  Her love for country music and just pure fun is heard in her shows every week, from her soft little voice to her down right devious giggle when she tells stories about her big brothers.  Her drive to excel has come from the loss of her grandmother, who told her to "always work hard for what you want and keep it real" and that she has.
